According to cultural organization SESCSP original artwork that are imported to Brazil is subject to:

  • 7% import duty
  • 7% other taxes
  • 18% ICMS (São Paulo)

As ICMS are calculated over the cost price including all other taxes, the approximate tax burden will be in the range of 30 - 50%.

This is the import rules to Brazil and there are no legal way of avoid these taxes.
