Board of Trade Service Fees
The Brazilian Boards of Trade provides a lot of services to commercial companies that operate in Brazil. But these services aren't free. Find out the fees charged by these government bodies.
In Brazil, the Juntas Comerciais – Boards of Trade – are the governmental bodies responsible for the registration of all the activities related to business practices. In total, there are 27 Board of Trades in the country, each one of them represent one State of the Federation and the Federal District.
Services Provided
The Boards of Trade maintain their head offices in the capital city of their respective states, but there are many offices and service stations throughout each state. These bodies are responsible for warranties, advertising, authenticity, safety and efficacy of the legal acts of commercial companies subject to registration.
Besides that, the Boards of Trade also offer registration services for commercial companies and for trade auxiliary professionals, such as sworn translators, auctioneers, official interpreters, among others. Recently, the issuance of CNPJ, that was only provided by Receita Federal, also started to be a responsibility of the Boards of Trade.
The Services aren't for Free
All these services aren't free of charge, there are fees charged upon the realization of each one of them. The fee values varies a lot, depending on the State locality of the Board of Trade. Just to give a parameter, the table below shows the fee prices for services provided by Jucesp, the São Paulo Board of Trade.
DARE is the state collection document that must be paid for the state, while DARF is the state collection document paid for the country. In some cases both, DARE and DARF, must be collected, while in other cases – for example for foreign companies – only one have to be paid.
