Import duty into brazil for leak etsterer for plastic bottles
DEAR SIR / MADAM
1) I build world leading leak tester for checking plastic bottles for holes.
The devices can be see in action on my website www.profauto.com.au and also on youtube chanenel PROFILE1963
Can you pelase advise me of the import duty for acomplet machine that in australian is classified under HS code 9031.80.00
2) if I was to import a fully made controll box into Brazil and seemble it onto a locally made conveyor would that reduce the tariff rate.
3) If I set up some maufacture in Brazil and imported my propriety control boards into Brazil for assembely into the rest fo the machine made localy would that reduce the import tariff on the controller.

You will have to contact an expert in classification within your industry to get a precise classification of your product. Such classification is usually done brokers for a relatively low fee.
My best guess would be NCM 9031.80.12.
Any value that can be create in Brazil will be beneficial for the overall cost price of the product as long as the additional cost of your Brazilian subcontractor is higher than the import tariffs for the same product.
