Few people have heard about the small town of Santa Rita do Sapucaí, in Minas Gerais.

Although the population is estimated in only 33000 people, Santa Rita do Sapucaí gained the impressive status of Electronic valley, housing large amounts of technology industries, technical schools and colleges.

Santa Rita do Sapucaí’s strategic location between three major Brazil’s cities (São Paulo, Rio do Janeiro and Belo Horizonte) was also an important factor for companies to choose the town to establish their industrial base.

Support from the government by cutting taxes and providing plots of land for investors allied to abundant specialized workforce, turned the area to one of the fastest growing in the country and entrepreneurship prizes winner. Industries such as mechanics, textile, building materials and agriculture, were also attracted by region’s significant growth over the past years.
