How does the missing UK-Brazilian tax agreement affect my freelance business?
I am from the UK and I read the UK don't have a tax agreement with Brazil. I have just started my own freelance design business in brazil with my Brazilian husband. Does anyone know if I need to pay tax in both countries?
- I don't understand double taxation, could anyone advise on this?
- Also what is the free tax allowance for an individual in Brazil?
- Is there national insurance or any other payment tha needs to be made?
In the Uk if you have your own business, you can write off the cost of tax of things purchased for your business but I am told this cannot happen in Brazil.
