Brazilians and websites: a peculiar relationship
Design, good interface and easy access are three important points when constructing your website for Brazilians. Find in this article what are the major points to attract Brazilians consumers to your online business.
Brazilians have some particularities when the subject is websites. The internet user is connected to the whole world, so remember: if your website does not please the consumer, your image on the network will probably be damaged.
Brazilians and the Internet
According to researches, the Brazilian population has approximately 80 millions internet users, out of which more than 10% have access to the network through mobile devices. Fifty seven percent of internet users are generating useful information, also related to politics and investment. Seventy percent of these users are sharing content generated by other users or newspapers.
Fifty two percent of all content shared on the internet is done through images. The major websites used by Brazilians to generate and share almost everything they think interesting are social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter and Orkut.
Why interface and easy access are so important?
Brazilians are known as a talkative and communicative people, so in the internet it would not be different. Internet users love sharing content with other people, and if your website does not have a link for social networks, you must work on it to survive in the Brazilian web market.
Another important point is the comment box. If your consumers or followers do not have a space where they can get in touch with your company directly from your website, they can create one. That's what happened to companies that did not give easy access to consumers or did not give solutions to what they needed.
Brazilians have created “Reclame Aqui”, a website made by consumers where anyone can complain about any company that have not answered or met consumers' needs. This website has also a list of companies (any kind of company, online or offline) that mostly cause problems for consumers.
You must make the interaction between company, website and consumer really work, otherwise the credibility will not be good and your website can enjoy the “hell list” from complaint websites such as “Reclame Aqui”
Generate clear content
Websites must be clear and easy to navigate, Brazilians do not like too much information on a web page. Images and photos are very accepted by the population, due to the easy language they provide, and that is a good point to have in mind.
Brazilians love sales, but they hate it when a product on sale has got exceptions and special conditions in small letters. Your website credibility will be higher if the information provided is clear, with no inconvenient surprises.
It's important to let Brazilians know about your company and where it comes from. The population is, nowadays, really worried about what are companies doing, what are their values and why they are in Brazil. Providing information about you in your website increases the relationship between consumer and company.
