While most of the world is cancelling orders and replanning strategies to handle the crisis, consumers in Brazil are moving exactly against this trend. According to the results published today by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the consumer sales experienced a growth of 9% over the last year.

The sectors that most contributed for this growth was the furniture and home appliances with a increase of 21,3%, and computer equipments with an impressive rise of 50,6%. Although crisis shows it’s first sign as the Brazilian real falls against the US dollars, it is not expected that sales will drop this year as Christmas period approaches and employees receive their 13th salary.
