Fund for Combating and Eradicating Poverty
In Portuguese Fund for Combating and Eradicating Poverty is named Fundo de Combate à Pobreza.
In order for all Brazilians to have access to a basic standard of living, there is the Fund for Combating and Eradicating Poverty.
The resources of this fund are invested in nutrition, housing, education, health, increasing family income and other programs relevant to social interest focused on improving the quality of citizens life. The states of Brazil, the Federal District and the municipalities must establish these funds.
The resources used for the poverty eradication funds are derived from entities with civil society participation. For the funding of states and Federal District an additional 2% can be incorporated in the ICMS rates. While in municipalities, an additional 0.5% might be included on service taxes.
