The import duties and taxes payable when importing these goods into Brazil are:

  • Import Duty: 20%
  • IPI: 10%
  • Pis: 1,65%
  • Cofins: 7,60
  • ICMS (IVA/VAT): 18%

The import duty is applicable over import goods only while all other taxes are the same to products made in Brazil too. However, there is a 'equation' for calculation of the above duties/taxes and the result applicable over the CIF value are the following:

  • Import Duty: 20%
  • IPI: 12%
  • Pis: 2,35%
  • Cofins: 10,80%
  • ICMS (IVA/VAT): 31,86%

Then the total amount of the duties/taxes paid 'at sight' for clearance of the goods for these produtcs is: 77,01%

For this example, the ICMS of 18% is for the State of São Paulo. Others States such as Rio de Janeiro, Parana, Santa Catarina, etc will have diferents percentages. BE Aware, that some products with Tariff number pretty close to yours such some kinds of Rollycoaster and Carousels my be exempt of the Import Duty.

Hope this information can help!

In general most import duties can be found in the Tax database here on The Brazil Business.

The NCM used in Mercosul id different from the HS code, however the first 6 digits are the same so your product should fall into the category TOYS, GAMES AND SPORTS REQUISITES; PARTS AND ACCESSORIES THEREOF - Roundabouts, swings, shooting galleries and other fairground amusements; travelling circuses and travelling menageries; travelling theatres

Examples on the exact calculation of import duties can be found in my answer to the question Could you give me an example how to caluculate the total duty cost?
